The notion of “Making Room To Make Disciples” centralizes around
Anderson’s vision and mission statement. This project is
not just about the addition of rooms to a physical
church, its about reaching out to the lost and helping
them to find Christ, furthering His Kingdom for
eternity. Some of you may be thinking, Making room to make
what? …To Make Disciples, but what is a disciple?
A disciple is one who is continuing to trust in Jesus
for the forgiveness of their sins and who desires to
live in obedience to Him. We are commanded as brothers
and sisters in Christ to go and make disciples. Some
will respond because the Holy Spirit is pulling them and
others will refuse because they want to live their own
life.
“Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations,
baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and
the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I
commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the
end of the age.” Matt. 28:19-20

Our Need
God is at work in and through this church! People
are “under construction" here ... people of all ages
... discovering and expressing God's grace through
relationships with each other and with Christ. Our
church family's growth in numbers and in spirit is
wonderful, but our growing family is overtaking our
means to accommodate ministry. We need to build new
spaces where all of that "life-building" can happen.
We can no longer do all that we need to do, or all
that God might call us to do, with our present
space. The proposed addition will provide:
- Additional classrooms for education programs for
all ages
- More space for worship services, with
flexibility to grow
- Additional space for nursery, and making that
space more secure
- More space for fellowship and special event
activities
- Rehearsal space for our wonderful music
ministries for all ages
- Flexible space for our expected continued growth
- Additional parking for our growing family
- Additional storage space and restroom access
How can we meet such needs? We need our people to
grow along with our church. We need our sense of
commitment to grow along with our growing
ministries. We need each person to discover his or
her own calling, his or her part, within the calling
of the church. We need you, and what only you can
do. We need a church family full of faithful
disciples who are willing to
Rise Up and Build.
Our goals are:
- to extend our ministries.
- to provide facilities that
meet the needs of our church family, both
now and for the future.
- to look for God's guidance
and direction, seeking the ways in which God
wants to work through each of us.
A Challenge goal requires not
equal gifts but equal sacrifice from our whole
church family. Only you can give your part.
Every gift is important.
A Celebration goal is stepping
forward in faith, a testimony to God moving in
our hearts and in our lives, leading each of us,
and all of us together, to accomplish more than
we imagined.
What is our financial challenge?
Individually, the challenge is for each of
us to find the unique ways we can help
achieve our goal for our church. For some it
means a weekly or monthly offering beyond
our current support. For others it means
giving a tangible asset to the church
(stock, bonds, property, etc.). For still
others it means transforming time, talent or
ability into a financial gift to invest in
the future of the church.
Together, we want to go beyond the
"milestones" set to gauge our commitment
progress.
- ENOUGH SPACE
for all of our needed classrooms:
children, youth, adult and older
adult Sunday school classes, plus
our many other special study classes
Pray
constantly -- Seeking God's
will is the foundation.
Pray for our church and our ministries. Pray
that God will enlighten the eyes of your
heart to know the hope of God's calling.
Get involved
-- See what is happening and what God is
doing in the church! Learn everything you
can about our ministries, our building plans
and God's vision for our future.
Share your
faith -- Take this
opportunity for worship and for study to
deepen your faith. The entire church family
is on this journey! Listen for and learn
from the faith of others. Share what you are
learning; encourage others with what you are
excited about and with how you see God at
work in your life and in the life of this
church.
Make your own
prayerful decision -- Turn
your prayers and faith into action. Make a
giving decision that honors God and that is
right for you. Faithfully and joyfully join
your gift to the gifts of the entire church
family.
